About
Website Speed Test is a simple, no-nonsense way to measure how fast a web page loads and to compare results across pages and domains. Paste a URL, and we’ll fetch it, follow redirects, record timing metrics, and capture basic SEO meta — then store the results so you can track progress over time.
What it does
- Measures speed: total load time and TTFB for the requested page.
- Re-test: Automatically runs new test every 3 days
- Follows redirects: we resolve to the final destination and store results for the effective URL.
- Checks status: HTTP status code and basic response size.
- Saves results: every test is stored so you can view history and compare runs.
Leaderboards & views
- Domain leaderboard: fastest URL per domain.
- Country/TLD leaderboard: e.g.
/country/dklists the fastest.dkdomains. - Per-domain view: all URLs we’ve tested for a given host.
- Per-URL history: the latest runs with a small trend graph (last 10 measurements).
- By IP: see which hosts in the database resolve to a specific IP address.
How it works
- You submit a URL.
- Our fetcher requests the page (HTTP/HTTPS), follows redirects, and times the response.
- If the page returns
404/410, we show a message and do not store the run. - Leaderboards always reflect the final URL we actually measured.
Accuracy & limitations
Results are useful for quick comparisons, but they’re not a full browser lab like Lighthouse. Network conditions, server load, and caching can affect timings. For deeper analysis, combine this tool with RUM or lab audits.
Privacy & data handling
- We store tested URLs, timing metrics, HTTP status, IP of the host, and basic meta tags.
- No cookies or user tracking are required for testing a URL.
- IP enrichment (country/region/ASN) may use third-party APIs; results are cached to reduce lookups.
- If you want a URL removed from the database, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Roadmap
- Bulk testing & scheduling
- Exports (CSV/JSON) and a lightweight API
- Optional alerts when a page slows down
- More metrics and filters (e.g., status ranges, TLDs, ISPs)
